About Vignette
Vignette is an anonymous communal writing experience. Once a week, a prompt appears. You write. When the window closes, all submissions reveal simultaneously.
How It Works
When a prompt opens, you have a window of time to write your response. Your submission remains hidden until the reveal time, when everyone's words appear together. No one knows what anyone else has written until that moment.
There are no usernames. No profiles. No followers. Just words meeting words in the space between.
The Rules
- One submission per prompt
- Maximum 2,047 words
- Once submitted, you cannot edit or delete
- All submissions are anonymous
Why Anonymous?
Anonymity removes the performance. Without a name attached, you're free to write what you actually think and feel, not what you think others want to see. The words stand alone.
The collective reveal creates a shared moment of vulnerability. Everyone's truth emerges at once, creating connections between strangers who may never meet but have, for a moment, thought about the same question.
Schedule
A new prompt opens every Sunday at 3:00 PM ET and closes Monday at 3:00 PM ET. When the window closes, all submissions reveal together.
Vignette is a space for honest expression. Write freely. Read generously.
