About Vignette
Vignette is an anonymous communal writing experience started after years of people telling me they wanted to write more.
Two times per week, a prompt appears. You write. When the window closes, all submissions reveal simultaneously.
How It Works
When a prompt opens, you have a window of time to write your response. Your submission remains hidden until the reveal time, when everyone's words appear together. No one knows what anyone else has written until that moment.
There are no usernames. No profiles. No followers. Just words meeting words in the space between. There is also music if you happen to find it.
The Rules
- One submission per prompt
- Minimum 20 words, maximum 2,047 words
- Once submitted, you cannot edit or delete
- All submissions are anonymous
Why Anonymous?
Anonymity removes the performance. Without a name attached, you're free to write what you actually think and feel, not what you think others want to see and without the judgment or worry about if it is good enough or perfect. The words stand alone.
The collective reveal creates a shared moment of openness and excitement. Everyone's work emerges at once, creating some form of connection and vulnerability between strangers who may never meet but have, for a moment, thought about the same question.
Schedule
New prompts open on Sundays and Thursdays. When the window closes, all submissions reveal together.
Stay Notified

Vignette is a space for honest expression. Write freely. Read generously.
